Anniversary #3

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary, which landed on a Wednesday.

We splurged a little for a night stay at Anniversary Inn.  We met there after we were both done with work and exchanged gifts.

We are 3-for-3 on purchasing "traditional" anniversary gifts, and this year was LEATHER!

My first gift idea for Marcel was leather flip-flops because everyone needs a nice pair of sandals, but I couldn't find any in our budget.  So instead he got a leather wallet (thank you Target clearance!) and "leather" flip flops.

I got a coin purse and fruit leather.  I love his creativity!

So HAPPY to have reached this milestone

After our gift-opening session, we headed to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.  It was so nice to be outside, have time to talk about our year and the year(s) to come, and eat delicious food!

We LOVED our room: Hollywood Romance

I forgot to tell the front desk staff about the misspelled words, but it drove me crazy :)

These towel swans were in front of the best tub I've ever used!  One day we'll have a HUGE tub in our house.

Thursday morning, we had to get up at the crack of dawn.  It left us enough time to eat our delicious breakfast and then for Marcel to head to work since school wasn't out yet.  I then headed home so I could head to Oregon for Emily's wedding!

I LOVE HIM!

March & April

Monthly recap:

At the end of March, we went and saw The Hunger Games!  We both really enjoyed it and thought they did pretty well turning the book into a great movie.  Apparently we love date days, because I have no idea why we look so dressed up for a movie that we went to at lunch time!

In April, Marcel turned 25 and I threw him a surprise party.  He did the same for my 25th and had asked for one.  I had planned on doing it before it was his birthday request, but wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off.  BUT I DID!

He was in Washington the weekend before his birthday, which gave me and my mom plenty of time to make food without having to act suspicious.  I picked him up from the airport and we headed to Sonic for their happy hour on slushies.  However, they were completely out.  I knew we were too early to head to the party, so we went next door to Dairy Queen for ice cream sundaes.  Silly, considering we were headed to a party full of desserts, but I was buying time.  And they were delicious!

Marcel was totally surprised.  We got to the park and he started recognizing cars and then he could eventually see the people waiting for us.  He was so happy I pulled it off.  Wish all the people at the party could have seen him surprised.

I completely failed at taking pictures of his/our wonderful friends and family who were there to celebrate with us, but I did get some of him opening cards/gifts.

Lilli was so insistent that she had to read the card she got for Marcel.

We didn't even get a picture together at the party, so this one from our couch will have to do.
Even if the window is reflecting in Marcel's glasses!

I didn't give him his present at his party because then there would be nothing left for his actual birthday.  Every time I asked what he wanted for his birthday, he told me the same one thing:
(Don't mind the child birthday wrapping paper, it's all we had!)
I love when it is so easy to fulfill his wishes!

Happy 25th Birthday!!
