April

At the beginning of April, Lilli figured out the pattern of numbers and was able to type to 59.  She can just about count to 100 on her own but writing them out is hard again.  We need to practice more.

She lost her first tooth and then a few days later she went to the dentist and he decided she needed to have the next one pulled because the permanent tooth was set so far back.

I also made peanut butter for the first time.  Cece was not a fan of this process.  She kept saying loud, loud.  Now I don't even have to have the blender out, but if I say "let's make a smoothie" she says "oh no, too loud."  This batch of peanut butter wasn't very good.  We ate it on toast with honey, but I've since made a second batch (using peanut oil) and it was much better!

Cece also found quite the personality and a level of stubbornness.  She won't do something if it doesn't fit her plans.  In this picture I had asked her to get a pull-up so she could get the dirty one off.  She said no and crossed her arms in frustration at me.

In a much happier moment, I let her go without pants (it happens quite frequently) and eat cheese, her 2 favorites!

We had a fun month of crafts too!

Our "little" envelope date this month was to play tennis.  We drove down to the middle school and had a great time.  Neither of us are very good, but we still got a few good volleys.  And we had a great time!

I got an email from Regal Theaters with free passes to see an early release Age of Adaline.  We both really enjoyed the movie and won't ever forget the movie was saw security guards.  We had to have our phones completely powered off, and because they were so worried about recording devices, they made Marcel put his watch (that checks his heart rate and steps) because the screen can illuminate.  If they saw anything illuminate during the movie you were automatically kicked out, no questions asked, and they felt it was better for us to be overly cautious, then to have something happen!

Marcel's birthday fell on a Sunday, so we celebrated with the girls on Friday.
Lilli typed Marcel this message on her own!

We made yummy, low sugar oatmeal raisin cookies, because they are his favorite.

The girls each made Marcel a birthday card

On Saturday, we headed to Tucanos, because you have to go there for your free meal.

And even though I didn't want our envelope dates to be used for birthdays, we had run out of time for the "big" envelope date for April, and I knew it was one Marcel had been asking to do for a really long time.  BOWLING!

Then we went to Fast & Furious 7!

Marcel's Golden Birthday

Marcel got home from school to discover 26 wonderful presents to celebrate being 26.

Lilli was such a helper and was so proud of all the presents we wrapped

After all the excitement from the presents we took the girls to feed the ducks.  It was more like Lilli took Marcel to feed the ducks, because she had planned it for a fun activity to do on his birthday.

When the day was over, we took the girlies to their mom and headed out for our real fun activity: Wahooz.  Thank goodness for free passes on your birthday!

26 Days of Birthday

This year I celebrate my golden birthday: turning 26 on the 26th and gave Marcel the challenge to give me 26 gifts.  He was forced to get pretty creative, however, because we don't have it in the budget for him to go buy something for each day...
I started the month by keeping track of everything I received, but after a few days I forgot to keep doing it, but to the best of my memory, I was treated to:

Breakfast in bed, Moxie Java, sleeping in, a movie in the theater, Hot Tamales and a note taped to the front door waiting for me when I got home from work, a milk shake, a Snickers bar, plenty of chores being done, a BSU shirt, a beautiful flower arrangement.  I know that wasn't 26 things but there really was 26 things...

We celebrated my actual birthday with a trip to Outback.  After a month of celebrations, Outback was in our budget thanks to a free dinner coupon and a giftcard :)

We've been terrible about taking pictures lately, but a birthday was the perfect excuse to start taking them again!

Marcel's Birthday

Yesterday, Marcel turned 24.  We had agreed to not celebrate birthdays this year to help us save money for our cruise (travel plans have yet to be determined), but I couldn't let it go by without a celebration.  I tried, but I really couldn't do it.

He got a new pair of plaid shorts, which are his absolute favorite.  We enjoyed dessert at TGI Friday's and saw The Source Code, which was a really good movie.
